The Get Started page is a setup checklist inside Avaza. It lists the first steps for each part of Avaza you use, and ticks them off as you complete them, so you can see what's left to do.
Open the page
New accounts open on the Get Started page. To come back to it, click the logo at the top left (on a phone, choose Dashboard in the menu), then click the Get Started tab next to Dashboard. The home page remembers which of the two tabs you used last.
What's on the page
At the top are a welcome video and a link to View all support articles. Below them, the page is split into sections. You only see the sections and steps that match your roles, and your ticks are your own.
Most sections have a progress bar and a checklist. Click a step to go to the page where you do it. Quick Start Guide opens the matching guide, and some sections also have an Intro Video.

Section | Steps | Shown to | Guide |
|---|---|---|---|
Invite Users & Contacts | Invite your first team member, and create or invite your first customer contact | Administrator, Finance Manager, Portfolio Manager | |
Project Management | Create a project, add a task and open Project Settings | Administrator, Portfolio Manager, Project Collaborator | |
Resource Scheduling | Give people the Scheduling User role, create schedule assignments and view My Schedule | Administrator, Scheduling Manager, Scheduling User | |
Time Tracking | Create your first timesheet, set up timesheet categories, start and stop a timer | Administrator, Timesheet/Expense User, Timesheet Approver | |
Chat | Take part in direct chats and #channel chats | Administrator, Chat User | |
Expense Tracking | Create your first expense, set up expense categories and create an expense by email | Administrator, Finance Manager, Timesheet/Expense User | |
Invoicing | Create an invoice, set up taxes and inventory items, customise your invoice settings, set up online payments, and add time and expenses to an invoice | Administrator, Finance Manager |
A few things to know:
- A section is also hidden when its module is switched off for the whole account. An Administrator switches modules on and off in Settings › General, under Enabled/Disabled Modules.
- Resource Scheduling only appears when the Team Schedule module is switched on, and it has no ticks. To set scheduling up, see scheduling settings.
- The steps follow your roles too. For example, Project Collaborators get Discuss a Task and Complete a Task, and Timesheet Approvers get Approve a Timesheet.
- External contacts get their own chat guide: chat for external contacts.
- Time Tracking, Chat and Expense Tracking also link to the Avaza Timesheets, Avaza Chat and Avaza Expenses mobile apps.
Hide the page
Click your profile picture at the top right and choose User Profile, or use the link at the bottom of the Get Started page. On a phone, User Profile is in the menu.
Turn on Hide Getting Started Screen and click Save.
The Get Started tab disappears, and the home page always opens on the dashboard. Turn the setting off to bring the page back.
