Every project has its own email address: send an email to it, and Avaza turns the email into a task in that project. Avaza creates the address, and you can't change it. You can, however, replace the project name at the start of it with something shorter, which helps when project names are long or alike.
Find the project's address
Open the project, click ⋮ next to its name and choose Create Tasks via Email. On a phone, it's in the project's menu.

The address looks like this:
WebsiteRefresh-1234-567@projects.avaza.com
- WebsiteRefresh is the project name, with only its letters and numbers.
- 1234 is the project's number.
- 567 is your Avaza account's number.
Use a shorter address
Keep the end of the address, -1234-567@projects.avaza.com, exactly as it is, and replace the name at the start with anything easier to remember. Emails still arrive in the same project, because Avaza goes by the two numbers. For example, Web-1234-567@projects.avaza.com works as well as the full address.
The name part can only contain letters and numbers: no spaces, hyphens or other punctuation.
For the same reason, renaming the project changes the name shown in Create Tasks via Email, but addresses with the old name keep working.
Administrators and Finance Managers can edit Project Settings on every project, Portfolio Managers on every project they're a member of, and a Project Manager on projects they're allowed to manage.
How emailed tasks work
- The email's subject becomes the task title, so it needs a subject.
- The body becomes the task description, and attachments become task attachments.
- The task is assigned to the person who sent the email and added to the project's first section.
Avaza only accepts emails sent from the address someone signs in with, and only from Admins or from project members who have the Project Collaborator role and the Create task permission (on the project's Members tab). If Avaza can't create the task, it emails the sender back under the subject "Task not created", with the reason.
To reply to an email about an existing task, see replying to task emails.
