Here's what six of the account dashboard widgets show, how their figures are worked out, their settings and who can add them. To add, move, resize or remove a widget, see getting started with the account dashboard.

Every widget has a Title in Widget Settings (the cog at its top right), so you can rename it. You can add the same widget more than once with different settings.

Unpaid Invoices

The total you're still owed on invoices and retainer invoices, in your account's base currency. Only invoices that have been sent count: drafts and voided invoices don't. A partly paid invoice counts with its remaining balance. Invoices in other currencies are converted at the exchange rate saved on each invoice.

The total is split into Current (not yet due, including invoices due today) and Overdue. Overdue is broken down by days past the due date: 1 to 15 days, 16 to 30 days and Over 30 days.

  • Settings: only the title.
  • Who can add it: Administrators and Finance Managers.

To see which customers owe what, run the Invoice Aging report.

Sales & Payments

A column chart of the current month and the 11 before it, in your account's base currency:

  • Sales: the totals of invoices, including tax, that have been sent, partly paid or paid. Drafts and voided invoices don't count.
  • Retainers: the same for retainer invoices.
  • Payments: the payments you received from customers.

Invoices count in the month of their Date Issued, so an invoice dated 7 June is in June. Payments count by payment date. Amounts in other currencies are converted at the exchange rate saved on each invoice or payment. Point at a column to see its amount, and click a name in the legend to hide or show that series.

  • Settings: only the title.
  • Who can add it: Administrators and Finance Managers.

For revenue per customer, run the Revenue by Month report.

Time Summary

Your own time entries for a date range: a chart and a table with each group's hours, its share and the Total Hours. It counts all your entries, whatever their approval status. The seven biggest groups are listed and the rest are added together as Other. Hours use your account's Timesheet Display Format.

The Time Summary widget set to Previous 12 Months, with 20.00 hours of Project Management and 4.00 hours of Software Development, next to the Recent Projects widget listing Website Redesign, Website Care Plan and Marketing Campaign

Pick a range from the menu next to the title: Today, Yesterday, This Week, This Month, This Year, Last Month, Previous 3 Months, Previous 6 Months or Previous 12 Months. Days follow your own time zone, and This Week starts on the first day of the week set in Settings › Timesheet Settings. The "Previous" ranges are whole months before the current one, so they leave out this month. Your pick lasts until you leave the page.

  • Settings: Default Date Range, the range the widget opens with (Today if you don't choose one), and Group By: Timesheet Category (the default), Billable Time (billable and non-billable), Customer or Project.
Time Summary Widget Settings with the Group By list open: Timesheet Category, Billable Time, Customer and Project
  • Who can add it: Timesheet/Expense Users and Administrators. It only ever shows your own time, also for Administrators. For your team's time, use the Timesheet Summary report.

Expense Summary

Your own expenses for a date range, by expense date, with each group's amount, its share and the Total Amount. Amounts are in your account's base currency, converted at the exchange rate saved on each expense. It counts all your expenses, whatever their approval status. The rest after the seven biggest groups is shown as Other.

It has the same date menu and settings as Time Summary. Group By offers Expense Category (the default), Merchant, Approval Status or Billable Status. Grouped by merchant, expenses without one show as No Merchant.

  • Who can add it: Timesheet/Expense Users and Administrators. It only shows your own expenses. For your team's, see the expense reports.

Task Project Breakdown

A bar chart with one bar per active project you're a member of. Each bar counts the tasks of one task type that are assigned to you, split by status in the status colours. Projects show as the project name with the customer in square brackets, the busiest first. Archived projects, and projects with none of your tasks of that type, are left out.

Click a project name to open that project's tasks, grouped by status. Click a status in the legend to hide or show it. If the widget says "No tasks to show", check that you have tasks of the chosen type assigned to you.

  • Settings: Task Type. If you don't choose one, the widget uses your account's default task type, and it shows that type's statuses. See task types.
  • Who can add it: Project Collaborators, Project Managers, Portfolio Managers and Administrators. External contacts, such as customers and contractors, can have the Project Collaborator role too.

Recent Projects

Up to ten active projects you're a member of, the one you last worked in first. It follows your own activity, not your team's. A project moves to the top when you add or edit a task or section, change a task's status, comment on a task (also by email), or edit the project's settings. A project you've just been added to also shows. Each row shows the project name, with its project code in square brackets if you use project codes, and the customer. Click a project to open it.

  • Settings: only the title.
  • Who can add it: Project Collaborators, Project Managers, Portfolio Managers and Administrators, including external contacts with the Project Collaborator role.

Other widgets

The library also has Task Summary, Uninvoiced Items and iFrame. See getting started with the account dashboard and embedding external content.

The widgets above can also be added to a company's Dashboard tab, where they only show figures for that company. There, Time Summary can't be grouped by customer.
