You can receive PayPal payments in the currencies PayPal accepts. See PayPal's list of supported currencies. It also explains PayPal's own limits, such as currencies that only work for PayPal accounts in that country.
Your customers only see PayPal in the Pay Now popup when the invoice is in one of those currencies. Each invoice uses its customer's currency, so a customer billed in a currency PayPal doesn't accept never sees PayPal.
To set up PayPal, see Using PayPal.
Why PayPal is missing from an invoice
If your customer doesn't see PayPal when they click Pay Now, check that:
- the invoice's currency is one PayPal accepts;
- PayPal is switched on in the Online Payments tab of the invoice's template, under Settings › Invoice & Bill Settings;
- Enabled is still ticked in your PayPal settings, under Settings › Online Payments.
When none of the template's payment providers accept the invoice's currency, the invoice has no Pay Now button at all. The button also disappears once the invoice is paid in full or voided.
What you can do
- Bill in a currency PayPal accepts. Each customer has their own currency, and new invoices use it. See multiple currencies.
- Offer another provider as well. Stripe accepts many currencies, depending on the country of your Stripe account. Switch on more than one provider in the template, and your customers see each one that accepts their currency. See Using Stripe and online payments.
When PayPal accepts the invoice's currency, the payment is made and recorded in that currency.
