A saved report normally shows the name of the standard report it's based on, such as "Timesheet Details", as its heading. If you keep several versions of the same report, they look alike once they're printed, exported or emailed.
Tick Display Saved Report Title and the heading shows your saved report's name instead. A saved Timesheet Details report called "Billable Hours This Month" is then headed "Billable Hours This Month".
The option is currently available on three reports: Project Dashboard, Task List and Timesheet Details.
Turn it on
Go to Reports and click the Saved tab.
The line at the bottom of each card ("Based on …") shows which standard report it uses.Open a saved report based on Project Dashboard, Task List or Timesheet Details.
Tick Display Saved Report Title. It's the last option in the parameters panel on the right.
Click Preview. The heading now shows your saved report's name.
Click Save As and choose the same report in Update Existing Saved Report (optional).
Its title and description fill in. Check Visible to too: it doesn't copy the current setting, so choose Public again if the report is shared.Click Save. The option is now stored with the saved report.
The list only shows saved reports you created, because only the creator can update a saved report. To use the option on a report a colleague shared, save your own copy under a new title, or ask them to turn it on.
Where the name appears
Once it's saved with the option ticked, your saved report's name is the heading:
- when you open the report on screen;
- when you print or export it, for example to PDF or Excel;
- in every scheduled email delivery. You don't need to change the schedule. See scheduling reports.
The name on the Saved tab doesn't change.
Turn it off
Open the saved report, untick Display Saved Report Title, click Preview, then save it again with Save As as in steps 5 and 6. The heading goes back to the standard report's name.
Questions
I don't see the option. It's only on Project Dashboard, Task List and Timesheet Details for now.
What if I tick it on a report I haven't saved? The heading keeps the standard report's name, because there's no saved name to use.
Can the name include apostrophes or quotation marks? Yes. The heading shows the name exactly as you typed it.
