Yes. An internal note keeps context with an invoice or estimate for the rest of your team, for example "Customer promised payment by Friday" or "Discount approved by Priya". Your customer never sees it.
Open the invoice or estimate and scroll to Activity History at the bottom.
Click Add Internal Note, next to the heading.
Type your note and click Add Note.
The note appears in the Activity History as Internal Note Added with the note's text, your name and the date and time, alongside the record's other events, such as edits, emails and customer views.
Who can see the notes
Only Administrators and Finance Managers can add internal notes. They're also the only roles that can open invoices and estimates in Avaza, so they're the ones who read them.
Internal notes never appear on the invoice or estimate your customer gets: not in the email, the PDF or the web view.
Good to know
- Notes can't be edited or deleted after you add them, so write them as you'd want the team to read them. If you delete the invoice or estimate itself, its notes can't be seen any more.
- Notes for your customer belong in the Notes field of the invoice or estimate instead, which is printed on it. See filling out an invoice.
For everything else in the activity history, see getting started with invoices and getting started with estimates.
